Sept of the Legion (Caerleon, Wales)

Caern Leader: Gordon Newell                Totem: Dragon

Caern Guardian: Dan Osabaldston      Secondary Totem:  Rat

Theurge: Jonathan Mistray              Location:  Roman amphitheatre, Caerleon

Gordon Newell 'Mr Newell': Children of Gaia, Galliard, Rank 4, Age 31, 5ft 11’ tall, A thin, wiry man, dirty and hairy and often smelly with a musky wolf odour. His hair is often greasy and unwashed and he has a day or two's worth of stubble. All part of his 'underestimate' campaign for he's is a competent weapon master and exceptional with sword and axe as well as tooth and claw. He was once a  Shadow Lord based at Colchester but he fell out with the King of England (Gillait at the time), came to Caerleon and bested the resident Leader after a year of being established at this base. Some claim that his change of tribe was purely for show and that he remains affiliated with the Shadow Lords. Some of this is true as he certainly maintains links with CoG and the SL. Since he has been in charge the Caern it has grown in power consistently (one of the only Caerns to do so in England) and he is faultless as a leader, albeit a little harsh. It allowed him to have the support when he replaced the resident Totem Stag for Dragon and made this a caern of fate. Normally he dresses in anything available with no fashion or dress sense and will occasionally dress in Russian military clothes for no given reason. Has a silver klaive but does not make huge use of it, preferring it to be quietly kept from mind.

Lu-Tsu says: Good of him to give me a Rite Of Passage, but I don't have much time for him.

Jonathan 'Mistray': Children of Gaia, Theurge, Rank 5, Age 35, 5ft 9’ tall, Balding fine brown hair and a round friendly face with a permanent stubble. A young disciple of Mother who came on in leaps and bounds and is one of the youngest of the nations elders. A keen military strategist mind allows him to give sound advice to Gordon and the two work well together to unite leadership and established routines at the caern. Is rumoured to be incredibly powerful in the Umbra thanks to a Fetish, he can even act as a secondary Totem in power scale, a power rarely demonstrated. He is often quoted when people inform pups 'With great power, come great responsibility'. Is the longest serving member of this caern (all the other originals are dead) and he was the youngest member of the original crowd. He still talks off them occasionally and his face will fill with sadness when he does. so. Normally dresses in specially made clothes or squash kit and has taken to converse shoes.

Chris Taylor 'Crap Chris': Children of Gaia, Ahroun, Rank 3, Age 28, 5ft 8’ tall. Ash blonde hair shoulder length, stocky build with a wispy excuse for a goatee. ‘The famous crap one himself’, often picked on by the others, and despite being experienced always looses renown because of his reputation. Much of this is unjustified and seems to stem from a 'playground' attitude of picking on the omega. Chris was considered to be a jinx and was kicked out of many caerns until Gordon took him in and helped the young garou find his way in the World. He has little confidence and self-respect but warms to anyone who shows him affection and as such has slowly began to build a reputation for himself. ‘Crap Chris’, a garou name he does not really deserve, wears old shoddy hand me downs from Mistray which once may have been great clothes. Always wears his smelly trainers and a jovial, but worried smile.

‘Rolo’: Children of Gaia, Ahroun, Metis, Rank 3, Age 26, 6ft 3’ tall. A enormously fat Garou and Britain’s only ½ tonne man, his garou name came from his over-indulgence of the sweets.. He has a trimmed brown mop hair that flops all over the place and his skin folds over him in vast layers. His legs are bowed and he looks very bottom heavy. Surprisingly, he is still amazingly mobile but quickly gets out of breath and many ahroun have made error of under-estimating the metis in a fight. Spends a lot of his time eating and sleeping and little on excerise, amplifying his condition. His claims of being 'big boned' often falls on unsympathetic ears. He is not at all embarrassed by his weight and thinks himself a sex idol and although he has a small amount of charm it is often buried by his obvious problem. However, he is a very dangerous garou and this is how he clearly earns his place on the roster. He is also one of the people who actually wants to help endorse this caern as a caern for 'lost pups' in the recent crisis. He wears specially made dungarees that he wears and bandages on his feet for shoes.

Henry Adams 'Strong Henry': Children of Gaia, Ahroun, Rank 4, Age 36, 6ft tall, short curly hair which spreads across his whole body. He is another overweight garou, but his mass is made up of tightly packed muscle and his presence is immediately noticeable. He openly took part in 'England's Strongest Man' contest, until the small amount of fame caused the elders to tell him to stop. No one wants a readily noticable garou. He is very stocky and looks like a professional wrestler; he is covered in body scars from when he used to fight against the gurahl, which causes him to dress as Zangief in fancy dress parties and events. He is a jovial chap and easy to go along with but he is a bit slow of mind and his conversations tend to reflect it. Normally dresses as a big kid, with shorts and baseball cap, frequents a wrestling club and works out daily.

Dan Osbaldston: Children of Gaia, Philodox, Rank 4, 6ft 1’, Age 43, A black hared Garou with a neat but curling full beard and a garou of some note in medieval period events. He wears glasses and is somewhat of a local history specialist with lots of knowledge from key sites around England. His great love of the site caused him to settle here and apply for caern membership. He acts as the human world representative and also the 'Keeper of the Land'.  he has spent several years living as a ronin in the area around the caern, until Wimbish and Gordon convinced him to settle at the caern which allowed him to build repute, favour with a tribal totem and eventually a door way into a settled life. His unique knowledges and skills in Drama and peacekeeping make him a great asset, but he still thinks of his ‘free life’ without obligation. Dresses with a Indiana Jones hat, swede and leather (black-brown) clothing with a distinct Indian or country look about him. He loves Egyptian and African cultures and many of his rites pay tribute to these cultures.

Mark Kerby: Silent Strider, Ahroun, Rank 3, 6ft 1’, Age 37, A charming brown hared man, hair style varies biweekly, overtly friendly and dedicated particularly to his kinfolk lady and son, spends a lot of time away visiting other caerns but has reserved a special place here as home. He still embraces the life of a Silent Strider, but he will willingly explain the benefits of having a caern life. He is the caerns spokes person within the garou world and although 'Mr Newell' is well travelled and a keen diplomat people often use Mark as a first port of call. He has regular ties with Manchester, St. Albans, London and France. He is fond of games, puzzles and riddles and is said to be connected to sphinx (he keeps himself an enigma) and can easily become obsessed with a puzzle. He often wears a white t- shirt and blue jeans like an 80's throwback, but is famous for dressing for the occasion, especially if there is someone or something to impress. He keeps a suit for this occasion in his travelling pack.

Weasel: Children of Gaia, Metis, Ragabash, Rank 3, 5ft 9’, Age 35,  A metis with shaggy brown hair in large bushy patches and a metis who can smile. Weasel is so named because he has a rodents tail and the elongated snout of the weasel, but he has never this effect his enjoyment of life. His coming to Caerleon allowed him to forget about his disgraced past and concentrate on his future and he has certainly found his feet at the caern with the tolerant Children of Gaia. He is a funny but sensitive garou, some of the Manchester Garou think his humour is a front, but his close friends do not agree. His happy life has made a joyful person and he is thankful for his position as he is aware there are others outside of caern with his circumstances who do not get it so easy. He is treated as a adren at the caern in all regards and few will make any reference to the sins of his parents. He is especially liked by the totem. He rarely leaves the Caern and spends most time in lupus or Crinos (his rat tail is apparent in all forms) and he can look particularly odd in his homid form.  As such he wears no clothes.

Pug: Children of Gaia, Metis, Ahroun, Rank 3, 5ft 11’, Age 48, He has patchy black hair (where it grows) and is a truly repulsive Metis, one eye larger than the other, upturned nose and jaw which juts out showing one huge canine tooth. Pug is ashamed and shy and also twisted and easily riled and a total contrast to Weasel, in fact the two do not get on well. He has no friends and is merely tolerated by most and is generally given basic duties at the caern. Gordon treats him well and ensures his loyalty as long as he is caern leader and entrusts him with 'Keeper of the Land'. He is a strong warrior and always ready to do guard duty, preferring to do it alone preferring the night watches. Pug wears a Dennis the Menace top which is stained by a constant drooling face and nose. He will also wear black trousers and Dock Martin boots. He always stays at the caern, only leaving for grand moots and for essential caern tasks. Pug is the stereotypical tragic tale of the metis in most regards and life continues to give him a bad hand. He normally stays in his homid form.

'Shaggy': Children of Gaia, Theurge, Rank 2, 5ft 10’, Age 25, A lanky, gaunt man with long shanky legs and arms and bushy uncut hair. He takes the appearance of his garou name and some people will taunt him by calling him 'Scooby' when he is in his lupus form. He smokes pot and cigarettes and loves music and seems to be able to knock down huge quantities of food without gaining weight. His hair is shaggy and his Crinos form has short hair and is dog like. His real name is Mark Bestson but has unofficially adopted his garou name even though he’s under rank for the name adoption. Greatly loved as a popular character, he has grown out of his mascot role and become a more valued member of caern life. He is still upset by many a combat as he still likes the key fighting skills. He does tend to latch on to active packs at this caern. He commonly wears flares and flower power or tie die clothes and looks much like a child of the 60's, mainly due his love of the music of the time.

Elaine 'Cymru Annibynnol' Pass: Children of Gaia, Galliard, Rank 2, 5ft 6’, Age 24, 'Elaine has long brown hair and an oval face and beautiful in a ‘normal’ girl next door way. She and shaggy are both the newest members of the caern and have received much training over their initial years. Elaine has become more closed in her aspects as 'Shaggy' has opened up in contrast. Elaine is a strong Christian something that her elders hope her to snap out of as she becomes more mature and has been encouraged by the opinions of 'Father Wimbish'. Elaine has married and now has 2 children both who are now liked kin at this caern. She is also a strong Welsh nationalist, but is a friendly mild tempered Garou with little rage. She also tends to pack with active packs that join the caern to gain her renown and experience. She has shown some interest in changing tribes to the Black Furies. She dresses humble in plain clothes with slip on shoes.

The Caern: The Caern was founded around 360 AD when the Romans withdrew from Wales. It was taken by the Shadow Lords, who lost it to the Silver Fangs during the English civil War, who then lost it to the Children of Gaia in the 60’s at the Battle of the Bridge. The battle is famous because not a drop of blood was spilled and the Children of Gaia still managed to win! Since then the Caern has come on in leaps and bounds with a pulsing development over every 40 or 50 years dependent on the strength of the leadership. The original totem Stag was changed into Dragon recently and caused it to  increase in power and became the symbol of Welsh pride. Many of the Children of Gaia ahroun flocked to the Caern from Manchester due to the glory inspired fights that occured in the area of the caern due to the War nature of the caern totem. Unwittingly this  made this caern more potent but weakened Manchester, the other seat of power of the Children of Gaia. This move that has caused much slur about Gordon and the suggestion that he is secretly working for the Shadow Lords. This migration of ahroun to Caerleon continues to this day despite the pressure applied to young ahroun. It seems personal progress is still more important that tribal development. This is now the most influential Children of Gaia caerns in Europe like Manchester has many members but lacks the vast links of moon bridge links of 'The Sept of the Green'. The Children’s open mind means all are welcome and it has become a shelter for metis Garou and many outcast ronin. The caern lacks huge size, confind by its site and location so positions here are highly prized. Many key political figures are angered by Gordon giving them out to metis and ronin. It is also a popular target for new pup and young garou packs looking for a home for sponsership, though this has been discouraged more over the years by Gordon Newell. The present leader, although capable, has caused a few in other caerns to make gossip about the Caern's political stance and future prospects. There is small chance though that there will be a leadership change any time soon despite discontent at the caern, brought on by visitors. Gordon is often underestimated and comes out on top. The site recently hosted a Grand Moot but is not set to host the next one in Great Britain as it lacks the size to contain the numbers. The caern is a large grassy ampthitheatre in the physical, but in the penumbra it looks likes its days of old. The arena of the amptheatre can be used to safely duel other people without risk of killing an opponent. Any fatal wound is rendered into a knockout by the totem and many ahroun come here just for this feature.

Fallen:

Ak-Ki-Ya - The fabled White Howler captured from the Spirals, he died in the Legendary realm.

Allies:

Hugh Lupus - The prized contact and alley of the Caern. A Gangrel vampire although he does not enter even the Bawn he is highly valued and saved garou and the caern many times. Most garou would give their lives for him. Hugh Lupus is an anti-vampire and can be suicidal made so by his loathing of his very nature.
